What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at ESI Motion?
ESI is looking for a talented and highly motivated individual who will be responsible for company accounting activities and day-to-day operational accounting activities. The selected candidate will be developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation and accounts receivable. This person will work under the guidance of the Director of Finance.
The ideal candidate will have at minimum a 4-year degree in Business or Finance or related area with at least 2 years recent relevant experience. The ideal candidate will be technically savvy, trustworthy, with an exceptional ability to multi-task and support companywide activities.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for timely accounting data entry and accuracy into company accounting system (QuickBooks).
- Preparation of monthly closing journal entries
- Adherence to Chart of Account, Profit & Loss, and other accounting maintenance structure.
- Responsible for Accounts Receivable and Account Payable activities, including client invoicing, deposits, credits, ACH, and credit card payment processing.
- Responsible for reconciliation of all charts of accounts on monthly, quarterly and annual basis Ensure the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions.
- Creation, review, reimbursement and archiving for employee expense reports.
- Process and archive employee and contractor payroll including auditing timecards for accuracy.
- Liaison to insurance providers for company insurance needs.
- Responsible for submission to appropriate government entities of annual company 1099 reporting.
- Assistance with end of year accounting transaction audit and submission of annual business income tax information to CPA.
- Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
- Supports accounting, controller, contracts, procurement and other department areas with special non-confidential requests.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Scheduling, typing, documentation, telephone, and calendaring skills.
- Experience with QuickBooks, MS Operating System 7, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project.
- Experience with PEO provider management.
- A hands-on, "get it done" attitude.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with co-workers.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Prior experience within the aerospace/defense environment is a plus.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or have permanent resident status.
- 4 years degree in accounting or related fields

Salary : $70,000 - $78,000
