What are the responsibilities and job description for the Specialist II Information Systems - Business position at ESC Region 3?
The Specialist II plays a critical role in supporting Region 3 school districts to implement and use business information systems to manage reporting and accountability. In addition, this role has the potential to leverage these information systems to drive real change for schools by enabling education leaders with training, tools and support to maximize their school finance capacity, as well as the impact of funds that reach students.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting, business administration or information management.
- Proficient knowledge of finance, budgeting and accounting principles and terminology.
- Proficient knowledge of information systems, database systems, and web-based applications.

- Sophisticated command of various business information systems, preferred.
- Quick to learn new software and data systems

- Articulate and support the Service Center mission and philosophy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide business accounting software support and technical assistance to district personnel.
- Promote PEIMS data quality through technical assistance and training to ESC staff and district personnel. Research, develop, evaluate, and coordinate district personnel data quality programs, materials and services related to specific assignment.
- Administer project budget efficiently and effectively.
- Develop, train and facilitate professional development to district personnel using ESC goals, program evaluation outcomes, input of district personnel and client data.
- Maintain professional skills appropriate to job assignment.
- Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical and responsible and serve as a role model for the region.
- Keep informed of and comply with policies established by Federal and State laws, State Board of Education Rules, and ESC board policy and procedures.
- Participate and coordinate efforts with other ESC staff for the purpose of accomplishing Center goals.
- Accurately prepare and submit, in a timely manner, all required reports.
