STAFF ACCOUNTANT/PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT PART-TIME, HYBRID, FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE
POSITION SUMMARY:
Generates financial statements and performs analysis for a portfolio of client properties
Creates and posts journal entries. Ensures that all expenses, receipts, owner's distributions, funding requests and other transactions for the accounting period have been accurately posted.
Assumes responsibility for the monthly closing of the general ledger, performing financial reporting and analysis, as well as general accounting functions using independent judgment to analyze and resolve accounting issues.
Ensure internal and external reporting requirements are consistently met.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Support the strategic direction for the property
Provide and perform diverse property and operational accounting services
Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
Analyze financial statements on a monthly basis, providing variance comments and similar analysis as necessary
Respond to requests for information from lenders, owners and investors
Determine and monitor cash requirements on a recurring basis
Prepare annual operating budgets
Monitor procedures and internal controls to ensure compliance with Company policies and make recommendations for improvements
Participate in special projects as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS in Accounting
- 3 years General Ledger Accounting experience required
- Real Estate Accounting experience or Public Accounting experience with Real Estate clients a plus
- Demonstrated understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and their application
- Ability to interpret lease documents
- Dedicated to meeting the expectations of Clients, Lenders, and Management
- Adaptability to deal with various tasks, environments, and people
- Strong planning and organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
- Highly motivated with ability to solve problems and take ownership of projects and results
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Compensation $35 - $40/hour, approximately 20 hours per week, hybrid,flexible schedule
