What You’ll Be Doing
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in power generation systems
- Use diagnostic software to interface with engine and generator control modules for troubleshooting and performance analysis
- Interpret work orders and technical instructions to determine service requirements
- Inspect, test, and fine-tune generators and related components to ensure optimal performance
- Disassemble and reassemble generator systems for maintenance and repair tasks
- Perform routine upkeep, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts
- Coordinate with the Service and Parts Manager to source necessary tools, supplies, and components
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support operations
What You Bring
- Your own set of tools
- Willingness to travel overnight to remote locations for generator service and repair
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience as a power generation technician or mechanic
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities, with a solid grasp of routine maintenance procedures
- Deep understanding of generator systems — including design, operation, and repair
- Awareness of safety protocols and occupational hazards specific to power generation work
- Physical capability to lift up to 90 lbs and perform manual tasks with dexterity and endurance
- A valid Alaska Driver’s License
