- Oversee Engineering Tasks
- Responsible for the design of complex projects, including grading, drainage, and utilities.
- Develop project objectives and approach for proposals and identify necessary sub-consultants.
- Prepare fee and cost estimates.
- Perform final review of utility models and drainage reports and stamp for approval.
- Responsible for completing project deliverables on time and within budget.
- Ensure projects' compliance with applicable codes, policies, practices, performance standards, and specifications.
- Communicate with internal and external project teams and clients.
- Develop project approach and workflow for simple projects to maintain profitability.
- Assist in developing project approach and workflow for complicated projects.
- Frequently communicate project progress to the Project Manager identifying any concerns.
- Review engineering tasks and initiate any appropriate corrective actions.
- Assist Project Managers in construction administration and observation.
- Provide support to entitlement and public processes.
- Respond to basic requests for information (RFIs) with direction.
- Prepare grant applications for public works projects.
- Oversee technical report preparation.
- Mentor project team.
- Cooperate and communicate effectively with the project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support.
- Responsible for completing timecards accurately and on time.
- May require attending project team and public meetings after hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Achieve a 75-85% Billable Utilization Rate. Non-billable activities include company & team meetings, professional development, community involvement, innovation time, culture & engagement activities, learning, and training.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Environmental, Construction Management, or related Engineering field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project planning and execution for land development projects.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and exposure to scheduling software ideal.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- The ability to work with multiple disciplines.
- Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of applicable codes, policies, standards, and best practices.
- Valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
- Professional Engineering License.
- Required to stand, walk, and sit.
- The position may require a visit to project sites occasionally.
- The position requires a normal range of hearing.
- The employee must be able to lift 40 lbs. occasionally.
- Requires prolonged sitting with 15% of the time spent bending and reaching.
- Must have manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
