The Role: Technical Excellence & Leadership
As a Senior Technical Engineer, you will provide specialized support to multiple teams, ensuring quality and innovation in our transportation sector. You will be responsible for overseeing complex engineering work, managing project deliverables on time and within budget, and serving as a technical leader within the firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee specialty transportation projects and provide in-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to DOT standards.
- Responsible for all project deliverables, including the review, approval, and stamping of final plan sets for quality assurance and control.
- Provide direction and coordination to less experienced engineers, PEs, EITs, and designers, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
- Conduct market research on new technologies and best practices in roadway design to lead knowledge sharing and create new standards and workflows.
- Lead advanced project pursuits and interviews and perform due diligence and feasibility studies for prospective projects.
- Prepare technical reports such as hydraulic and utility reports and represent the firm at public agency and project team meetings.
- Professional Engineering (PE) License is required.
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- 12-15 years of experience in planning and/or final design projects.
- Professional knowledge and experience with Civil 3D, Open Roads Designer, and Bluebeam are essential.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects under $200k independently, strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to serve as an expert witness if required.
