What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Engineer position at EPS Connects LLC?
Process Engineer – Injection Molding
Staunton, VA (Relocation Assistance Available)
I’m working on a Process Engineer opening with a medical device manufacturer that is continuing to expand its injection molding capabilities internally.
This role is very hands-on and focused on developing, validating, troubleshooting, and improving molding processes in a regulated manufacturing environment.
They’re looking for someone who has actually spent time in the process—not just coordinating projects from a desk.
What They Need Help With
- Developing and optimizing injection molding processes for new and existing programs
- Supporting NPI and process transfer activities
- Executing IQ/OQ/PQ validations and documenting results
- Troubleshooting molding issues related to quality, scrap, cycle time, and consistency
- Supporting equipment selection, setup, and commissioning
- Working closely with tooling, quality, automation, and manufacturing teams
- Driving continuous improvement efforts across the molding operation
Background They’re Looking For
- Experience in injection molding process engineering or plastics manufacturing
- Strong troubleshooting and process development experience
- Exposure to scientific molding / DOE methodologies
- Experience with validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ)
- Medical device or regulated manufacturing experience is helpful
- RJG / Master Molder training is a plus
Why This One Is Interesting
This is not a maintenance-type process engineering role.
The team is continuing to build out molding capability, so the person coming into this role will have a chance to influence:
- Process standards
- Validation approach
- Manufacturing readiness
- Long-term molding capability
The environment is collaborative, technically strong, and growing steadily.
If your background is more heavily focused on hands-on molding process development and troubleshooting, there could be a good fit here.
