We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Lifeguard to help maintain a safe, welcoming, and supportive aquatic environment for residents and community members. This role plays an important part in preventing injuries, responding to emergencies, and creating a positive pool experience for all swimmers.
Position Details
• $17.00–$19.00 per hour
• Summer seasonal position: June 8 – August 9
• Part-time, 2–3 days per week (employee-selected)
• 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
• 0.3–0.4 FTE

What You’ll Do
• Supervise swimming activities and ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed
• Monitor the pool, pool deck, and locker rooms to maintain a clean and secure environment
• Enforce pool rules and address unsafe behavior or potential hazards
• Respond quickly to emergencies and provide first aid, CPR, rescues, and/or artificial respiration as needed
• Inspect the pool area regularly for safety, cleanliness, and proper equipment function
• Communicate swimmer concerns, incidents, or safety issues to the Wellness Coordinator
• Serve as a warm, friendly, and professional presence for residents and community guests
What We’re Looking For
• Current Lifeguard Certification from a nationally recognized organization (American Red Cross, YMCA, or equivalent)
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification with adult-specific training
• Ability to monitor the safety and wellbeing of senior swimmers, including those participating in low-impact or therapeutic aquatic programs
• Knowledge of emergency protocols and strong independent decision-making skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient, respectful demeanor
• Dependable, punctual, and flexible
• Physical ability to swim, lift, and assist with rescues as needed
