Substance Abuse Program Manager (SAIOP/SACOT)

A SAIOP (Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program) supervisor in North Carolina oversees program operations, staff management, and client care by providing direct supervision, ensuring adherence to clinical standards, managing daily schedules, and collaborating with the Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS) and other professionals. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, facilitating groups, documenting services, and ensuring staff training, qualifications, and ongoing professional development. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Oversight:
  • Provide direct clinical supervision and support to SAIOP staff, ensuring quality of care and adherence to treatment protocols. 
  • Program Management:
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the SAIOP, including scheduling, resource allocation, and ensuring program goals and objectives are met. 
  • Staff Management:
  • Train, mentor, and provide feedback to staff, conduct performance evaluations, and foster professional growth within the team. 
  • Client Care:
  • Oversee client treatment planning, counseling services, group facilitation, and crisis intervention within the SAIOP framework. 
  • Documentation and Compliance:
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of services, maintain compliance with North Carolina regulations and standards, and manage program reporting. 
  • Collaboration and Referrals:
  • Collaborate with other providers, referral sources, and the supervising LCAS or Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) to coordinate client care. 
Qualifications and Skills: 
  • A relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree.
  • Required North Carolina certification or licensure (e.g., LCAS).
  • Knowledge of substance abuse treatment modalities and techniques.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in crisis intervention and case management.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team and ensure effective operations.
