Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine the severity of injuries or illnesses.
- Manage airway patency, administer injections, medications, and other critical interventions following established protocols..
- monitoring vital signs and providing critical care during office visits
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care reports, treatment provided, vital signs recorded, and other essential records for legal and medical purposes.
- Collaborate effectively with hospital staff, emergency room personnel, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient handoff and continuity of care.
Requirements
- Valid EMT certification with current licensure recognized by state authorities; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) are required.
- Proven experience in emergency medicine settings, including hospital environments such as emergency rooms or urgent care clinics.
- Critical care experience preferred, especially within Level I Trauma Centers or critical care transport scenarios.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, venipuncture techniques, airway management, and medication administration protocols.
- Ability to perform physical examinations accurately and assess patient conditions swiftly under pressure.
- Experience with medical device operation (DME), injection administration, and vital signs monitoring essential for effective patient management.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; ability to lift heavy equipment or patients safely when necessary.
- Familiarity with triage procedures and urgent care protocols to prioritize treatment efficiently in high-stakes situations.
