Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Description:

Envision Technology, an innovative small business providing advanced electro-optical solutions for defense applications, seeks an Accounts Payable Specialist. In this role, you are responsible for posting supplier invoices and employee reimbursements within a timely fashion.

Responsibilities:

• Process supplier invoices within the system ensuring accuracy.
• Prepare and process employee expense reports.
• Ensure credit is received for outstanding debit memos.
• Update database of suppliers.
• Prioritize payments according to cash discount potential, operational needs, and payment terms.
• Verify supplier accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries, resolving discrepancies in pricing or quantity and managing new vendor setups.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes. They also prepare 1099 tax reporting and provide documentation for internal or external audits.
• General administrative and accounting duties as required.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Required skills and qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent with 4 years of accounts payable experience or Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to positively interact with staff, customers, suppliers, and other external personnel.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of company information.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Outstanding time management skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with ERP systems
