This position is in the Office of Air and Radiation, Office of Clean Air and Radiation, Office of Clean Air Programs, Natural Resources Division, Oil, Gas, and Coal Branch.

About: The Office of Air and Radiation.

This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to one of the duty stations stated in this announcement on a regular basis (location TBD after candidate selected).

Qualifications:

NOTE:  You must meet qualification requirements, including any requirements described in the Education section, by the closing date of this announcement.

In addition to the basic education requirements, you must have specialized experience and/or directly related education as described below:

To qualify for the GS-14 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-13 level defined as providing technical advice related to the oil, gas, and/or coal sectors; providing input on air pollution programs and procedures; and coaching or mentoring others.

To qualify for the GS-15 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-14 level defined as advising teams, stakeholders, and/or senior leadership on the development or implementation of oil, gas, and/or coal programs or regulations; providing recommendations on air pollution programs, policies, or procedures; and leading workgroups, projects, or programs.

You will need the following competencies in order to perform the duties of this position successfully GS-14:

Responsibilities:

You will:

  • Plan, organize, and direct the activities of the organizational unit to ensure they comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customers’ needs.
  • Exercise supervisory responsibilities to foster an environment that empowers employees to participate in and contribute to mission success.
  • Represent the organization to internal and external stakeholders by building effective working relationships, analyzing issues that affect the organization, and recommending appropriate actions.
  • Serve as a technical advisor on issues pertaining to air pollution associated with the oil, gas, and coal sectors by planning and/or reviewing specific problems, programs, and policies to develop new or improved techniques and solutions.
