This position is in the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention, Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics, New Chemicals Division, New Chemicals Risk Management Branch 2 and Industrial Chemistry Branch.

About: OCSPP

This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to one of the duty stations stated in this announcement on a regular basis.

Qualifications:

In addition to the basic entry education requirements, you must have specialized experience and/or directly related education as described below:

To qualify for the GS-15 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level defined as providing leadership, oversight, or technical expertise to synthesize scientific/technical data to support regulatory decisions; developing, updating, and/or implementing Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) assessment procedures, models, frameworks, and guidelines; establishing and/or monitoring performance measures to assess the effectiveness, efficiency, and progress of a team.

Responsibilities:

You will:

  • Lead Branch activities in technical and science policy analyses to support regulatory and non-regulatory programs relating to the review and risk management of new chemicals and interpreting the impact of changes in regulation.
  • Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities to foster an environment that empowers employees to participate in and contribute to mission success.
  • Lead team-based research across diverse scientific fields to advance organizational objectives and develop new framework or assessment paradigm.
  • Serve as a consultant on workgroups, panels or committees to establish and maintain partnerships.

You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements.
