Environmental Protection Specialist

This position is in Office of the Regional Administrator, Region 3. About Region 3: Region 3

This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis.

Qualifications:

NOTE:  You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

To qualify for the GS-13 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level defined as evaluating policies, programs, and/or practices, to achieve environmental goals and outcomes; and collaborating with internal and/or external customers.

To qualify for the GS-14 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level defined as evaluating or developing agricultural policies, programs, and practices to achieve environmental goals andoutcomes; providing guidance and/or recommendations to internal and/or external customers; and coaching, mentoring or leading others.

Responsibilities:

You will:

• Advise and assist the Regional Administrator in coordinating,understanding and taking action on agricultural sector activities in Region 3.
• Serve as an authoritative resource on policy and provide expert advice to all levels of staff and management.
• Provide project management, by coordinating interdisciplinary projectteams to identify, plan and prioritize work and strategies.

NOTE: Career ladder promotions are not automatic, and all eligibility and qualifications requirements must be met in order to progress to the next grade level. 

You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements.
