What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisory Contract Specialist position at Environmental Protection Agency?
This position is in Region 5, Mission Support Division, Acquisition and Assistance Branch. About: Region 5.
This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis.
Qualifications:

In addition to the basic entry education requirements, you must have specialized experience and/or directly related education as described below:
To qualify for the GS-15 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level defined as leading contracting officers and/or contracting specialists, such as directing workload, providing technical guidance, and mentoring; reviewing contracting actions for compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation and organizational policies.
You will need the following competencies in order to perform the duties of this position successfully:

In addition to the requirements above, you must have (and will be required to maintain) Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) (Professional) or Department of Defense (DoD) Contracting Professional Certification.

Responsibilities:
You will:
- Plan, organize, and direct the activities of the organizational unit,ensuring that they comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs to accomplishcontracting and grants efforts for the organization.
- Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities to advise andprovide counsel regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management for employee developmentand administrative support of contracts and grants.
- Represent the organizational unit and Agency to explain policy andprocedures, resolve significant problems, and determine appropriate actions of impact for establishing,developing, and maintaining effective working relationships.
You will spend more than 50% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements.
