Our Waco, TX facility manufactures aluminum beverage cans commonly used for soft drinks, beers, energy drinks, teas and non-carbonated beverages. Using state of the art can-making technology, this high speed environment provides rewarding manufacturing opportunities.
The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and executing the daily logistics of finished goods leaving the Aluminum Beverage Can Manufacturing Plant. This role ensures timely, accurate, and safe preparation and loading of customer orders, maintains detailed shipping records, and coordinates communication between the production floor, warehouse, and third-party carriers to optimize delivery performance.

Will lift, carry, pull / push, and reach for supplies and on occasion lifting (up to 50 lbs.) while performing various aspects of the job; Will need to climb stairs, climb ladders, lift and move objects, requires manual dexterity and repetitive use of keyboard/computer devices/power tools/machining equipment; Wear safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes.
Hours / Special Conditions
12 hour rotating shifts 4 days on and 4 days off; Rotating shifts requires working night shifts; Present to fulfill job duties & meet operational demands/support; Schedule may vary depending on plant operational needs thus flexibility is required which may include long days, evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime; Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.

Essential Job Functions
LOGISTICS AND DOCUMENTATION
- Shipment Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule inbound and outbound shipments with trucking companies, ensuring carriers arrive on time and loads are ready for efficient pickup.
- Order Processing: Review customer orders, confirm quantities and can specifications, and generate all required shipping documents, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), packing lists, and customs documentation (when applicable).
- System Entry: Accurately enter and update shipping information, tracking numbers, and delivery confirmation into the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (e.g., SAP) and/or Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Inventory Control: Partner with the Warehouse and Forklift team to verify inventory counts and locations, ensuring the correct Finished Goods are staged for the appropriate loads.
- Load Preparation: Direct and monitor the loading of finished can pallets onto trailers, ensuring loads are secured properly, comply with weight distribution limits, and meet customer-specific loading requirements.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all loading dock procedures, including trailer inspection, wheel chocks, and dock lock safety, are strictly followed by plant personnel and external carriers.
- Finished Goods Management: Oversee the organization of the finished goods staging area, verifying product stability, proper labeling, and quality integrity of the palletized loads.
- Carrier Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for external carriers, resolving delays, scheduling conflicts, and shipment discrepancies.
- Internal Coordination: Communicate closely with the Production Supervisor and Planning team regarding daily output and potential scheduling changes to ensure alignment between production completion and truck availability.
- Compliance: Maintain records in compliance with DOT regulations, trade compliance, and company policies.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Required – High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business is a plus.
- Required – Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, or warehouse coordination, preferably in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Logistics Systems: Strong working knowledge of standard shipping procedures and proficiency in using ERP and WMS software for shipment processing and inventory tracking.
- Documentation: Experience creating and interpreting Bills of Lading (BOLs), commercial invoices, and export/import documentation.
- Communication: Excellent organizational and communication skills to coordinate between multiple internal and external parties.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory and shipping paperwork.
- Safety: Basic knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations related to loading docks and securing cargo.
- Availability: Must be able to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime, as required.
- Ability to work with employees from many different cultures and backgrounds
- Preference will be given to qualified local candidates
- General knowledge of basic hardware and software and uses of a variety of different computer operating systems such as Microsoft Office Work, Excel, Outlook, Google Workspace, and web-site software
- General knowledge of SAP, preferred; or other inventory shipping/receiving tracking systems knowledge
