Brief Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Forklift Operator role entails arranging product, handling transportation processes, loading delivery trucks, and filling client orders. They are expected to support the company operations by helping to ensure all goods incoming and outgoing are prepared and loaded to complete our daily shipments - domestic and international. This position requires prioritizing the Company’s safety procedures at all times while in the working area and maintaining accurate documentation of the materials that are being shipped.

Daily contact with other departmental personnel. Occasionally works in all weather conditions, extreme temperatures, around chemicals and chemical fumes/emissions, dusty & clean environments. Frequently works with electrical and mechanical hazards. When working with surplus and scrap materials, will frequently be required to work outside and/or in an unaired conditioned warehouse. Continuous use of vision, hearing and speech. Frequent sitting, standing, walking and occasional bending. Will lift, carry, pull / push, and reach for supplies and on occasion lifting (up to 50 lbs.) while performing various aspects of the job; Will need to climb stairs, climb ladders, lift and move objects, requires manual dexterity and repetitive use of keyboard/computer devices/power tools/machining equipment; Wear safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes.
Hours / Special Conditions
12 hour rotating shifts 4 days on and 4 days off; Rotating shifts requires working night shifts; Present to fulfill job duties & meet operational demands/support; Schedule may vary depending on plant operational needs thus flexibility is required which may include long days, evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime; Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position

Essential Job Functions
- Transport finished goods and raw materials from processing facility to warehouse; Managing inventory by utilizing RF scanning equipment
- Loading, unloading, shipping and receiving warehouse items; secure loads to machine before transportation; stay aware of any possible hazards while operating forklift machinery; retrieves supplies and materials by studying specifications; locating and verifying supplies and materials; secures pallets on truck; moves pallet to production location
- Keep track of the location of goods, report any damaged or lost goods, be alert and report any obvious defects of incoming or outgoing material or products; move good from one location to another; Picking and wrapping orders for shipment
- Responsible for pulling job for production, inbound forms, inventory tags and counts on materials received or shipped
- Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device
- Ensure the proper and systematic handing of all warehouse inventory
- Operate machinery to place large items in inventory; regulating access to the inventory resources
- Safely operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in handling supplies and equipment
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Keep production equipment stocked with materials
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Required – High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Required – a minimum of 1 years’ experience in inventory management along with shipping and receiving experience
- Required – Must receive training and be certified before operating a forklift; re-certification is required every 3 years
- Prefer experience operating forklifts, pickers or general warehouse duties in a high-speed manufacturing facility
- Skilled in hand and power tool usage
- Knowledge of SAP and inventory management
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Effective decision-making skills
- Ability to follow proper safety procedures
- Handle simple and complex heavy industrial equipment like forklifts, scissor lifts, basket trucks, etc.
- Working knowledge of all automation standard practices
- Proactive and takes ownership to resolve problems and issues
- Ability to work with employees from many different cultures and backgrounds
- Preference will be given to qualified local candidates
- General knowledge of basic hardware and software and uses of a variety of different computer operating systems such as Microsoft Office Work, Excel, Outlook, Google Workspace, and web-site software
- General knowledge of SAP, preferred; or other inventory shipping/receiving tracking systems knowledge
