POSITION SUMMARY:
Our Waco, TX facility manufactures aluminum beverage cans commonly used for soft drinks, beers, energy drinks, teas and non-carbonated beverages. Using state of the art can-making technology, this high speed environment provides rewarding manufacturing opportunities.
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and retrieval of raw materials, finished goods, and packaging supplies within the Aluminum Beverage Can Manufacturing Plant and warehouse. This role is critical to maintaining production flow, organizing inventory, and preparing finished can loads for shipment.

Hours / Special Conditions
12 hour rotating shifts 4 days on and 4 days off; Rotating shifts requires working night shifts; Present to fulfill job duties & meet operational demands/support; Schedule may vary depending on plant operational needs thus flexibility is required which may include long days, evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime; Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position

Essential Job Functions
MATERIALS HANDLING AND INVENTORY
- Safe Operation: Safely operate a forklift (and potentially other motorized equipment like walkie riders or clamps) to move materials throughout the plant, adhering strictly to all safety protocols and traffic control procedures.
- Loading/Unloading: Load and unload trucks, ensuring shipments are verified against manifests and handled without damage.
- Raw Materials: Transport and stage raw materials (e.g., aluminum coil, chemical supplies, tooling components) to the correct production line staging areas as required by production schedules.
- Finished Goods: Move finished, palletized can loads from the Palletizer area to the warehouse or designated shipping lanes.
- Inventory Accuracy: Perform cycle counts and ensure proper documentation and scanning of all material movements into the Warehouse Management System (WMS) or inventory tracking software to maintain high inventory accuracy.
- Certification & Inspection: Conduct mandatory pre-shift and post-shift forklift inspections (e.g., fluid levels, brakes, horn) and report any mechanical issues immediately. Must maintain a current, valid forklift operator certification.
- Storage: Stack and store finished goods and raw materials correctly and safely in designated rack locations, ensuring stability and adherence to height and weight restrictions.
- Compliance: Strictly adhere to all plant safety rules, including pedestrian safety, traffic flow patterns, and equipment operating procedures.
- Housekeeping: Maintain exceptional cleanliness and organization in the warehouse, staging areas, and around the docks, removing debris and ensuring clear aisles.
- Production Support: Assist Production Technicians by moving and supplying necessary operational materials (e.g., tier sheets, top frames, cleaning agents) to the production lines.
- Documentation: Complete daily logs, checklists, and inventory forms accurately and legibly.
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively with supervisors, shipping/receiving clerks, and production personnel regarding material needs and delivery timelines.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Required – High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Preferred – Minimum of 1-3 years of experience operating a forklift in a fast-paced manufacturing, warehouse, or logistics environment.
- Certification: Must possess or be able to successfully complete and maintain valid forklift operator certification as required by OSHA and company standards.
- Safety Focus: Unwavering commitment to safety procedures.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring repetitive bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
- System Familiarity: Basic computer skills for data entry into a WMS or inventory tracking system are preferred.
- Availability: Must be able to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime, as required.
- Ability to work with employees from many different cultures and backgrounds
- Preference will be given to qualified local candidates
- General knowledge of basic hardware and software and uses of a variety of different computer operating systems such as Microsoft Office Work, Excel, Outlook, Google Workspace, and web-site software
- General knowledge of SAP, preferred; or other inventory shipping/receiving tracking systems knowledge
