System Test Engineer

Job Title: Modem System Test Engineer – UICC/eSIM

Location: San Diego, CA 92121

Duration: 3 months with possible extension

Job Summary

We are seeking a Modem System Test Engineer with expertise in 5G/LTE modem validation and UICC/eSIM technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform system-level testing and validation of Modem–UICC interfaces across 5G, LTE, and WCDMA technologies.
• Validate eSIM/iSIM operating systems, platforms, applications, profiles, and Multiple Enabled Profiles (MEP).
• Develop, execute, and automate test plans and test cases for modem and SIM-related features.
• Validate voice, data, and SMS services, including IMS, VoLTE, and VoNR, in Single SIM and Dual SIM configurations.
• Perform Remote SIM Provisioning (RSP) testing using GSMA SGP.22 and SGP.32 ecosystems.
• Analyze modem logs using QXDM and troubleshoot system-level issues.
• Execute testing using wireless test equipment such as Keysight, Rohde & Schwarz (R&S), and Anritsu.
• Collaborate with software development, application engineering, and program management teams to drive issue resolution and improve product quality.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 3 years of experience in mobile or wireless system testing.
• Strong understanding of 5G, LTE, IMS, VoLTE, and VoNR technologies.
• Experience with SIM/UICC, eSIM, or iSIM validation.
• Hands-on experience with QXDM for log collection and analysis.
• Experience with Python for test automation.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and protocol analysis skills.
• Familiarity with Android-based mobile platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with GSMA SGP.22/SGP.32 Remote SIM Provisioning.
• Knowledge of 3GPP, GSMA, ETSI, and GlobalPlatform specifications.
• Experience with SM-DP , eIM platforms, Comprion, or FIME test solutions.
• Exposure to SIM Toolkit (STK) or Toolkit Test Applets.
• Experience working with handset OEMs, chipset vendors, or mobile network operators
