Summary: Seeking a Product Development Engineer to lead technical automotive engineering projects, focusing on product development and corporate initiatives.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Materials Science or Chemical Engineering required; Master of Science preferred
- Six Sigma greenbelt certification preferred
- 5-8 years of product/process engineering experience
- Knowledge of magnet wire products and applications preferred
- Understanding of process engineering techniques with modern equipment experience
- Familiarity with project planning, management, and automotive product development practices (APQP)
- Ability to problem solve using engineering principles
Responsibilities:
- Lead technical activities for automotive product development projects
- Plan and organize project activities from Phase 0 to Phase 5
- Translate customer requirements into specifications and testing activities
- Lead DFMEAs and engineer risk mitigation activities for projects
- Identify validation and verification activities needed for design needs
- Lead internal design reviews following design control practices
- Practice design for lean and six sigma methodology
- Collaborate with laboratory resources for testing activities
- Work with the automotive team to enhance skills
- Assist in meeting project requirements
