Position Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical / Process Engineer with direct experience in the Design and Application Engineering of Process Vacuum systems. This position requires strong expertise with Process Vacuum Equipment and Systems utilizing Ejectors, Eductors, Liquid Ring Vacuum pumps, and hybrid configurations.
Key Responsibilities
Process & Application Engineering
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the application, design, and specification of ejectors, eductors, liquid ring vacuum pumps, and auxiliary systems.
- Perform technical and engineering reviews of end-user RFQs. Select and size appropriate vacuum and auxiliary equipment to meet performance guarantees.
- Support troubleshooting, optimization, and debottlenecking of existing field systems.
- Maintain, develop, and continuously improve existing proprietary vacuum system application and sizing methods.
Technical Customer Engagement
- Support proposal development, including technical descriptions, performance guarantees, and scope definition.
- Serve as the primary technical interface between customers, sales, and internal mechanical engineering teams.
- Participate in customer meetings, site visits, and technical presentations as required.
- Support system startup, commissioning, and performance validation out in the field.
Product & Market Development
- Assist with the development of standardized and modular vacuum systems and supporting technical literature.
- Provide feedback on customer needs, application gaps, and product improvement opportunities.
- Monitor industry trends in process vacuum, separation technologies, and energy optimization.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 3 years of direct experience with the design, sizing, and application of Vacuum Ejectors, Eductors, Liquid Ring Vacuum Pumps, and Hybrid Systems.
- Strong understanding of condensers applicable to process vacuum systems, including surface and barometric condensers.
- Proven ability to read, interpret, and develop PFDs and P&IDs.
- Comfortable working directly with customers in technical or applications-focused roles.
- Willingness to travel as required for customer site visits and system startups.
Preferred
- Experience working within the chemical, pharmaceutical, biotech, food processing, specialty chemical, or thermal power industries.
- Background supporting custom-engineered capital equipment sales.
- Master’s degree (MS) in Engineering.
