About the Role
The Junior Electrical Engineer will support the FPGA development in an embedded control system with microcontroller, motors and sensors (digital and analog interfaces). Additionally, the role involves RTL coding, simulating and implementation of FPGA design based on hardware requirements; and supporting sub-system integration and troubleshooting with electrical, mechanical and firmware engineers.
Responsibilities
- Documents and analyzes design requirements for implementation RTL coding, simulating and implementation
- Pin assignment based on hardware design
- Keeps the HW/SW interface documents up to date
- Develops interface and control logics for serial buses (I2C, SPI, UART…)
- Develops control algorithms for motor driver circuits
- Develops control algorithms for analog front end circuits
- Hardware bring-up and troubleshooting
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering
- 2 years of related experience; internship or project experience in FPGA development is a plus
- Experience with embedded MCU hardware design and low level driver coding is a plus
Required Skills
- Proficient with FPGA design and workflow, familiar with mainstream FPGAs and the development tools.
- Good RTL coding practices, familiar with VHDL and/or Verilog.
- Familiar with embedded interface protocols development (I2C, SPI, UART…)
