About the Opportunity
We are seeking a strategic and analytical Commercial Finance Manager to partner closely with Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Product Management teams. This role plays a critical part in driving financial performance, supporting data-driven decision-making, and shaping pricing and product strategies within a dynamic manufacturing/industrial environment.
Position Overview
The Commercial Finance Manager will lead financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting efforts while supporting key business initiatives such as product launches, customer quoting, and profitability optimization. This individual will act as a strategic partner across multiple functions, ensuring alignment between financial objectives and market opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide financial leadership and strategic support across Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Product teams
- Lead customer quoting, program financial analysis, and pricing strategy development
- Manage the quote-to-launch process, including business case development, capital tracking, and investment analysis
- Drive financial planning, forecasting, and reporting processes
- Conduct profitability analysis across product lines and identify opportunities for margin improvement
- Evaluate investments and program performance using NPV, IRR, and cash flow analysis
- Analyze market trends, product performance, and pricing to support business strategy
- Support customer financial presentations and change request evaluations
- Partner cross-functionally to improve cost efficiency and optimize product portfolio performance
- Mentor and support development of team members, as applicable
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business (MBA or Master’s preferred)
- 5–7 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or commercial finance within manufacturing or industrial environments
- Strong experience with:
- Product line profitability and program financials
- Pricing strategy and cost analysis
- Forecasting and financial modeling
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Engineering, Operations, Product Management)
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (JD Edwards preferred)
- Experience with financial planning tools (e.g., Oracle EPBCS, SmartView) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
- CPA, CMA, or similar certification preferred
