Summary: The Order Management Specialist is responsible for managing the end-to-end order lifecycle, including order entry, tracking, fulfillment coordination, exception resolution, and data accuracy. This role ensures seamless execution of customer orders, supports carrier and shipper alignment, and collaborates cross-functionally with transportation, warehouse, and customer teams to ensure timely and complete order fulfillment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the entire order lifecycle from entry through delivery, ensuring timely processing, fulfillment, and documentation.
- Coordinate with shippers and internal teams to validate product availability and delivery timelines.
- Accurately enter and update order information into order management system.
- Oversee inbound and direct shipments, coordinate carrier pickups, and monitor in-transit loads.
- Track orders and resolve issues related to fulfillment, returns, and exceptions (e.g., mis-ships, damages).
- Utilize transportation and order management systems (e.g., ETM, TMS) to manage and monitor order status.
- Communicate proactively with internal teams and external shippers/customers to provide updates and resolve inquiries.
- Support return merchandise authorization (RMA) and recycled order process.
- Maintain documentation and reporting for order and shipment accuracy.
- Participate in process improvement efforts to streamline order and shipping workflows.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in order management, logistics coordination, or transportation operations.
- Proficiency in order management and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including use of formulas, pivot tables, and data formatting.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Familiarity with transportation documentation, returns processing, and shipment reconciliation.
