Summary:  

The Program Manager is responsible for applying principles, techniques, and best practices to initiate, plan, execute, control and close projects. Work is varied and complex, and the Program Manager is required to use a broad range of knowledge gained through prior program management and manufacturing experience. The Project Manager maintains and promotes open lines of communication with internal and external customers. This position is responsible for launching activities as well as existing programs.  This position interacts with the other department managers and provides guidance and project management to ensure that projects align with the company’s goals and promotes the Interplex Sunbelt, Inc. company culture. The Program Manager reports directly to the Engineering Manager. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Includes the following, other duties may be assigned.)

  • Prepares and manages project documentation, budgets, deliverables, milestones, resource management and schedules. 
  • Implementation of manufacturing projects, from concept, through quoting, to budgeting and on to full production. 
  • Initiate, plan, execute, control and close project activities. 
  • Define and verify scope, develop project plans and timelines to ensure on time and on budget completion of deliverables.
  • Execute and maintain project plans; review, track, monitor and report on project status; identify, track and resolve issues by coordinating internal and external resources.
  • Manage the risks and issues that might arise over the course of a project life cycle, as well as take measures to correct them when they occur.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships and open lines of communication with all internal and external departments, stakeholders and customers involved with each project.  
  • Successfully manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Collaborate, coordinate, and communicate across disciplines and departments, both internally and with customers.
  • Work under minimal direction and use independent judgment to identify issues, trends & problems, recommend action plans and evaluate results on projects that may not be clearly defined. 
  • Work is varied and complex, requiring the individual to use a broad range of knowledge gained through prior program management and manufacturing experience.
  • Work with internal and external sources to complete objectives, keeping the needs of external and internal customers as a priority when making decisions and taking action.
  • Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may be required and/or assigned as necessary.
  • Ensure deliverables are aligned across the projects and programs in the program.

 

Required Education and/or Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field 
  • 5 years of program management experience, in a fast paced and rapidly changing manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of project and program management methodologies.
  • Direct and manage APQP activities.
  • Fluent communication in English (oral and written), program management, analytic, interpersonal, prioritization, multi-tasking, initiating and planning.
  • Ability to use software and peripherals related to job responsibilities, including MS Project and MS Office 
  • Prioritizing work and multi-tasking
  • Compiling and analyzing data and preparing a variety of reports
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative and cooperative relationships throughout the organization and with customers.
  • Ability to facilitate teams and customer relationships, to satisfy needs and identify improvements.
  • Ability to demonstrate commitment to excellent customer service and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects including continuous evaluation and re-ordering of priorities as needs dictate.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers.
  • Ability to recognize and apply program management best practices to fit a variety of situations.
  • Willingness to learn, accept and apply corporate and industry specific processes and methods.
  • Providing customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, and customers, sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
  • Ability to demonstrate commitment to excellent customer service and follow-through.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers.


Preferred Education and/or Experience: 

  • Masters degree
  • Knowledge of ISO-13485 requirements 
  • PMP certification
