Position Summary
The Instructional Coach is responsible for supporting the implementation of the Englewood Schools Instructional Model, with a focus on best practices through collaboration, program implementation, resource development, and modeling effective instruction. This includes co-planning and co-teaching in both general and special education settings, as well as facilitating reflective dialogue to improve instructional practice. The coach provides high-quality, accurate, constructive, and timely feedback to support teachers in maximizing their effectiveness and impact on student achievement.
In collaboration with the principal, teacher leaders, and data teams, the Instructional Coach supports professional learning aligned to student and teacher data, assists in developing culturally responsive classrooms, and leads professional development initiatives. The role also includes supporting the planning and implementation of classroom, district, and state assessments, actively participating in district-level work, and fostering positive relationships with all stakeholders to promote strong community engagement.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Oversee support staff in accordance with district policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; conducting conferences and goal-setting sessions; performing formal and informal observations; providing feedback and completing employee evaluations; recognizing achievements and addressing disciplinary matters; and handling complaints and resolving workplace issues.

Valid CPR and First Aid Certification.
Valid Colorado Teaching License with secondary endorsement.
General Expectations

Salary placement from $53,464 - $103,027 based upon education, experience and Negotiated Agreement. Current Salary Schedule posted at Salary Schedules - Englewood Schools.
Additional Information
New hires or rehires will be responsible for the fingerprint processing fee required for background checks through the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
Per the negotiated agreement, all teachers that start after student first day are temporary.

- Create a positive coaching environment with effective structures that promote high-quality teaching, learning, and student achievement
- Foster instructional improvement through coaching, reflection, and the use of tools to enhance and extend instruction
- Maintain organized systems for processes, procedures, and data collection to maximize instructional time
- Motivate and empower learners to monitor and track their own progress and achievement data
- Facilitate the implementation of research-based instructional strategies and best practices aligned to teacher, school, and district needs
- Design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences using contemporary tools and resources
- Demonstrate expertise in literacy and model rigorous, relevant curriculum design
- Support alignment of standards, objectives, strategies, materials, and assessments, with differentiation based on student needs
- Use data systems to analyze results, identify trends, and inform instructional improvements
- Assist in collecting and analyzing district-wide and site-based literacy assessment data to guide curriculum and program decisions
- Communicate effectively with staff regarding progress and growth opportunities
- Utilize technology and other platforms to share resources and engage stakeholders
- Build strong relationships with students, staff, and families to proactively address needs
- Plan and deliver professional development to deepen understanding of the instructional model
- Facilitate grade-level and literacy-focused meetings to strengthen instructional practices
- Apply ongoing learning to improve coaching effectiveness and instructional programming
- Advocate for initiatives that support student success while adhering to professional ethics and standards

Education/Training/Experience
- Master's degree in curriculum, instruction, educational leadership, or administration (preferred)
- Bilingual skills (preferred)
- Minimum of four (4) years of successful teaching experience
- Experience working in middle and/or high school settings
- Demonstrated experience coaching licensed/certified staff
- Experience with student discipline processes, including investigations, suspensions, and expulsions
- Experience conducting staff performance evaluations
- Knowledge of and experience with Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
- Strong skills in communication, human relations, and leadership
- English fluency, as demonstrated through the application and interview process
