Job Summary

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) provides prompt, compassionate, and professional emergency medical care to individuals who are sick, injured, or disabled. Working in fast-paced and high-pressure environments, the EMT assesses patient conditions, responds to signs, symptoms, and medical complaints, administers appropriate pre-hospital treatment within scope of practice, and ensures safe transportation to or between healthcare facilities. The EMT plays a critical role in stabilizing patients, monitoring their condition during transport, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to support positive patient outcomes.

Job Qualifications

• Knowledge of emergency medical procedures, patient assessment techniques, and medical equipment
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency and stressful situations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, healthcare providers, and emergency personnel
• Ability to lift, carry, and move patients and equipment, and perform the physical demands of emergency response work
• Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and documentation skills
• Availability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments as needed
  
  

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
  
  

License/Certification/Registry

• Current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification/licensure in accordance with state and local regulations
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate emergency vehicles safely
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification; Advanced Life Support (ALS) knowledge preferred

Englewood Health job postings provide a minimum rate to comply with new Jersey Law. The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, etc. The minimum rate does not include bonuses/incentives, differential pay or other forms of compensation. In addition to the minimum rate, eligible employees may receive comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other wellness resources.
