Job Summary:
The Quality Engineer will provide quality assurance support to the product development and operations teams, resolve defects and other potential issues, and ensure that products meet customer and approval agency specifications.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Review design plans, process procedures, test procedures, and quality manuals to understand product scope, requirements, and function.
- Ensure products meet the organization’s and customers’ quality, product integrity, and agency approvals requirements.
- Support product development and operations teams by providing analysis and expertise throughout inspection and agency approvals processes.
- Ensure compliance with agency listings as a point of contact for on-site audits.
- Identify root causes of problems in the production process; recommend and/or implement corrective measures.
- Analyze data to identify trends in product quality or defects to mitigate and prevent recurrence and future defects.
- Prepare protocols for validation or performance testing of new or modified manufacturing equipment, processes, or systems.
- Analyze data from validation tests to determine whether systems and processes meet the required criteria and specifications.
- Calibrate equipment to ensure accurate measurements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
- Competent and able to read and understand CAD or similar drawings and identify dimensions and specifications from product drawings.
- Demonstrated effective problem-solving skills. Able to understand complex issues and provide appropriate, effective solutions.
- Strong ability to assemble & analyze data from various systems to get to opportunity/root cause.
- Proven success as a team member, collaborating cross-functionally and participating in diverse thinking.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Flexible and a strong willingness to adapt and advocate for change.
- Ability to work through multiple obstacles to complete daily tasks.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline – required
- Entry-level position: no experience required – internship or co-op preferred
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job in the Plant or Warehouse, the employee can be exposed to noise. The noise level is usually moderate. If travel is necessary, it would be minimal. Must have reliable means of transportation to allow flexible work hours as needed.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb ladders/steps, and sit.
- Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear.
- Frequently required to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
- Use a computer keyboard with a mouse for extended periods.
- Occasionally lift and/or move 25 pounds.
- Occasionally incur physical demands associated with ground and/or air travel.
- All the above could occur in high or low temperatures involving wind and/or precipitation.
Travel:
- Travel will be minimal; may include short trips (1-3 days) to suppliers or testing labs
