eNGINE is hiring a Data Quality Assurance Engineer with strong technical expertise and hands-on experience in ensuring the quality and accuracy of data. This role requires critical thinking, sharp analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively across teams. You will play a key role in developing and implementing data QA standards and procedures, ensuring the integrity of reports, dashboards, and data exports.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and translate them into comprehensive test plans and documentation.
- Design and implement test strategies, approaches, and documentation aligned with business needs.
- Develop data profiling and data mapping documents to support testing objectives.
- Contribute to data testing frameworks using PySpark, validating datasets, reports, and dashboards with a variety of quality checks.
- Identify, monitor, and report data defects; participate in defect triage and resolution processes.
- Design and generate test data to validate data transformation logic across different layers of the pipeline.
- Lead efforts in ETL result validation and dashboard testing.
- Define and enforce data quality rules focused on completeness, accuracy, and transformation logic.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in data quality testing, including the design and execution of hybrid cloud/on-prem solutions.
- Proficiency in data profiling, data mapping, and writing complex SQL queries.
- Experience with data management tools such as Azure DevOps and Azure Data Factory, as well as Azure Cloud services like ADLS Gen2 and Azure Databricks.
- Strong background in test automation using Python (including Pandas, PySpark, PyTest), GitHub API testing, and Jenkins.
- Proven experience in ETL testing, including data cleansing, transformation, and report/dashboard validation.
- Solid understanding of data warehouse concepts and dimensional modeling.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to business requirements, document data quality standards, and conduct detailed data validation.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of experience specifically in a Data QA role.
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Microsoft Power BI and Tableau.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
