We are currently seeking a compassionate, reliable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide 1-on-1 medical monitoring and transportation escort services for a 16-year-old male student during his daily school van transit in the Westwood, MA area.
Flexible Scheduling Note: We are open to hiring two nurses to split the daily schedule (one for morning trips, one for afternoon trips) or one nurse to handle both shifts. Shift Options & Schedule Morning (AM) Shift: Approximately 7:45 AM - 9:45 AM (2-hour round trip) Afternoon (PM) Shift: Approximately 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM (2-hour round trip) Early Release Days: 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM Total Daily Hours: 4 hours per day (if completing both AM and PM runs) Key Responsibilities 1-on-1 Transit Care: Accompaniment and continuous medical observation of a 16-year-old male student aboard a specialized school transport van to and from his educational program. Medical Oversight: Monitor student health status, seizure/airway protocols (or specific medical plan of care), and respond immediately to any medical needs or emergencies during transit.
Safety Protocols: Assist student with safe boarding, secure positioning in transit, and smooth handoff to school staff in the morning and family/caregivers in the afternoon. Documentation & Communication: Maintain accurate daily transit logs and communicate efficiently with school health staff, transport team, and caregivers regarding any health changes. Qualifications & Requirements Licensure: Active Massachusetts Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing.
Certifications: Active CPR / BLS Certification. Experience: Prior experience in pediatric care, school nursing, 1-on-1 patient transport, or complex medical care preferred. Clearance: Ability to pass standard Massachusetts SAFIS fingerprinting and CORI/SORI background checks.
