What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr Electrical Engineer position at Endera?
About Endera
Endera was founded in 2019 with a clear purpose: build dependable, technologically advanced, cost-effective, and energy-efficient all-electric commercial fleet vehicles. We have grown rapidly to become a recognized leader in delivering state-of-the-art electric commercial vehicles to market. As we continue to scale, we are committed to innovation and reducing carbon emissions — one vehicle at a time.
Role Summary
This is a foundational engineering role at Endera. As our Senior Electrical Engineer, you will serve as the lead electrical engineering authority today — owning the full lifecycle of electrical system design, documentation, and integration across our EV and hybrid commercial vehicle platforms. You will establish the engineering standards, tools, and processes that will define our electrical department as we grow. This role is expected to evolve into a department leadership position as the team expands.
General Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, design, and engineer high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (12V) electrical systems for commercial electric and hybrid bus platforms
- Develop and maintain comprehensive electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and bill of materials (BOMs) for each vehicle configuration and work order
- Research, program, and modify vehicle control modules for special use cases and platform integrations
- Perform detailed electrical calculations to establish standards, specifications, and design criteria
- Direct and oversee fabrication, installation, testing, and repair of electrical systems and components
- Integrate electrical systems across multiple chassis platforms, ensuring conformance to engineering design, safety, and customer specifications
- Research and evaluate new technologies, components, and assembly methods to drive innovation and cost efficiency
- Document and maintain electrical installation processes, methods, and engineering standards for use by production and service personnel
- Research and analyze OEM chassis electrical systems to ensure proper module and harness integration
- Provide technical support for warranty and field service
- Support supply chain management by identifying long-lead electrical components and providing accurate BOM data
- Provide hands-on training to production and service on electrical systems, processes, and procedures
- Participate in and lead product improvement and continuous improvement initiatives
- Lay the groundwork for a scalable electrical engineering department, including process documentation, tool standardization, and future team development
