Electrical Engineer (Capital Projects / Power Systems)
Location: Defiance, OH
This is a senior-level engineering role with high visibility, focused on leading electrical design and execution for large-scale capital projects. The position will play a key role in building out a new plant and supporting broader expansion efforts across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert for electrical systems and power distribution
- Lead electrical design and implementation for large-scale capital projects
- Manage projects from concept through execution, ensuring timelines and budgets are met
- Oversee power distribution systems ranging from high voltage to low voltage
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and contractors
- Support controls integration, including PLCs, drives, and motor systems
- Provide leadership through coaching, mentoring, and training team members
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred
- 7–10 years of experience in electrical engineering within manufacturing environments
- Strong project management experience with capital projects
- Expertise in electrical design and power distribution (high to low voltage)
- Experience with PLCs, drives, and motor controls
Preferred experience:
- Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens systems
- DCS experience (a plus, not required)
- Background in high-speed manufacturing or consumer products
Additional requirements:
- Proven leadership ability, including mentoring and coaching others
- Willingness to travel extensively (up to 75%) during the first 6 months
- Ability to relocate to the Defiance, OH area once the plant construction phase begins
