**Job Overview:**

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Needs Children Support Provider/Respite Caregiver to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential care in the clients home and potentially outings in the community. You will work both independently and collaboratively to best support children with diverse needs, offering respite to their families while ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.
**This is a Part-Time position. Total hours are variable and coordinated based on client needs and staff availability, offering a highly flexible schedule. Primary service hours align with after-school (afternoon/evenings) and weekends with expanded schedules during school breaks/summer.**
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Deliver personalized care and support to children with special needs, catering to their individual physical, emotional, and social requirements.
- Implement customized care plans and developmental activities designed by professionals and family members, promoting the child’s growth and independence.
- Offer respite care to families by supervising and engaging with the children, allowing caregivers a temporary break to recharge.
- Maintain open and supportive communication with families and Care Coordinators, providing updates on the child’s activities, progress, and any significant observations.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of the child at all times by maintaining a secure and hazard-free environment.
- Assist with daily living activities, including feeding, dressing, bathing, and mobility support where necessary.
- Document and report any changes in the child's behavior, health, or needs to the family and appropriate professionals promptly.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications or training in childcare, special education, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with children with special needs is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trustful relationships with children and their families.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the well-being and development of children.
- Ability to handle challenging situations with a calm and positive approach.
- CPR and first aid certification or willingness to obtain these credentials.
