**Job Title: Youth Special Needs In-Home Respite Worker (Part-Time/Flexible)**

**Job Description:**

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Youth Special Needs In-Home Respite Worker. This part-time position offers flexible hours promoting work-life balance. It is an ideal for those who are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children and their families with a variety of needs and goals who enjoys the professional challenge of learning and adapting for each individual. As a Respite Worker, you will provide essential support and care to youth with special needs in the comfort of their homes and potentially out in the community.


**This is a
Part-Time position. Total hours are variable and coordinated based on client needs and staff availability, offering a highly flexible schedule. Primary service hours align with after-school (afternoon/evenings) and weekends with expanded schedules during school breaks/summer.**

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Provide attentive and personalized care to children with special needs, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Engage in activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development tailored to each child's unique needs.
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, and Care Coordinators to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, toileting.
  • Maintain a positive and supportive environment, offering encouragement and assistance as needed.
  • Document and report any changes in the child's behavior, progress, and areas for growth and communicate openly with family and Care Coordinators.
  • Foster an inclusive and respectful atmosphere, promoting the child's autonomy and self-esteem as well as emotional awareness and regulation.

**Qualifications:**

  • Previous experience working with children with special needs is preferred.
  • 18 years or older with a High School Diploma or Equivalent; required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Special Education, or related field; preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and open communication skills with a growth mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to varying environments and family dynamics.
  • Compassionate, patient, and understanding demeanor.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required for travel to client homes.
  • Flexibility in availability to accommodate varying schedules, including evenings and weekends.
