Job Summary
The Laboratory Technician III/IV supports clinical laboratory operations by performing diagnostic testing, specimen collection, and analysis. This role ensures accurate and timely results while maintaining compliance with federal, clinical, and accreditation standards within an IHS facility.
Contract Duration
- Typically 12-month contract (with possible extensions based on facility needs)
Work Schedule
- Monday – Friday
- 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (depending on site)
- May include weekends, holidays, or on-call coverage as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory testing in areas including:
- Clinical chemistry
- Hematology & coagulation
- Microbiology
- Serology & blood bank
- Urinalysis
- Collect specimens via venipuncture and capillary methods
- Prepare and process samples (blood, urine, etc.)
- Operate laboratory equipment (analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes)
- Perform quality control, calibration, and maintenance
- Review and verify test results for accuracy
- Maintain proper documentation and patient records
- Assist in inventory management and lab workflow
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field
- Certification as Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) (ASCP, AMT preferred)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Experience Required
- Laboratory Technician III: 4–6 years of experience
- Laboratory Technician IV: 6 years of progressive experience
- Experience in hospital or clinical lab setting required

Pay: $68.00 - $73.00 per hour
