Maintenance & Machine Operator (Contract)

·         Operate and monitor assigned production machinery to ensure consistent output

·         Carry out routine mechanical maintenance on machines, including adjustments, lubrication, and part replacements

·         Assist with mechanical fault finding and repairs to minimise downtime

·         Support breakdown response and ensure machines are returned to operation efficiently

·         Perform regular inspections of machinery, identifying wear, potential failures, and mechanical defects

·         Assist with maintenance on equipment, plant systems, and production lines

·         Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained in good working order

·         Identify and report safety risks, faults, and maintenance requirements promptly

·         Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment

Requirements

·         Grade 12

·         N3–N4 in Mechanical or Electrical (preferred)

·         Minimum 2 years’ experience in a maintenance and machine operating environment

·         Strong mechanical aptitude with good understanding of moving parts, machinery, and basic fault finding

·         Working knowledge of electrical systems will be advantageous

·         Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport

·         Must reside in the Port Elizabeth / Uitenhage area

·         Must be willing to work shifts (05:00 – 14:30 / 17:00 – 02:30)
