Our client is looking to appoint a skilled IT Security Manager in Port Elizabeth to take responsibility for the implementation, oversight, and continuous improvement of security practices across the organization. The role involves ensuring compliance with a range of international, industry-specific, and local regulatory requirements by working closely with both internal teams and global stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, capable of making sound decisions independently, and able to lead by example while collaborating across multiple business units. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential for success in this role.
- Oversee the implementation and ongoing support of security policies, procedures, and controls within the business.
- Monitor operational risks and identify any irregularities or areas of potential concern.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for security-related matters at a local level.
- Engage with regulatory authorities and relevant external bodies to ensure compliance and minimize exposure to risk.
- Conduct both on-site and remote audits, reporting on findings and recommending appropriate corrective actions.
- Work closely with global compliance and legal teams to ensure alignment with international standards and requirements.
- Ensure security processes are effectively managed to meet organizational risk management objectives.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by recommending enhancements to existing processes.
- Provide expert guidance and support during system or process implementations.
- Evaluate system updates or changes and advise on potential impacts and improvements.
- Assist in refining training materials, documentation, and process guidelines in collaboration with compliance teams.
- Maintain adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Requirements
- 5 years in the Freight Forwarding industry.
- Degree in Education, Accounting, Business, Marketing, Communications or Logistics is preferable.
- Prior exposure to Risk Management is advantageous.
- Strong CargoWise experience.
- Prior exposure in Education, Teaching or Training.
