What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bookkeeper - Contract position at EnableSA (Pty) Ltd?
· Capture and
maintain all financial transactions in accounting systems (e.g., Sage, Xero,
QuickBooks, Pastel)
· Maintain
general ledger and subsidiary ledgers
· Process
accounts payable and receivable
· Perform
monthly bank reconciliations
· Reconcile
creditors and debtors accounts
· Investigate
and resolve discrepancies
· Assist with
payroll processing (if applicable)
· Ensure
compliance with South African statutory requirements: PAYE, UIF, SDL
· Prepare and
submit statutory returns to SARS (or assist accountant)
· Prepare and
submit VAT returns (VAT201)
· Ensure
compliance with VAT Act requirements
· Maintain
supporting schedules and documentation
· Prepare
monthly management accounts
· Assist in
budgeting and forecasting
· Generate
trial balances and reports for accountants/auditors
· Maintain
accurate records for audit purposes
· Ensure
compliance with company policies and procedures
· Assist with
internal and external audits
Requirements
· Grade
12
· Diploma or
Certificate in Accounting / Bookkeeping / Finance – preferred
· Minimum 2–5
years bookkeeping experience
· Experience
working with SARS submissions is advantageous
· Proficiency
in accounting software (e.g., Sage Pastel, Xero)
· Strong
understanding of South African tax regulations (VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL)
· Advanced
Microsoft Excel skills
