EMR is currently hiring for a skilled Senior Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in New Orleans, LA. In this role, you’ll be responsible for keeping our equipment running safely and efficiently through timely preventative maintenance and quality repairs. You’ll inspect, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of mechanical systems, including diesel engines and hydraulic equipment, while ensuring all work meets company and safety standards.

What You’ll Do
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy industrial and mobile equipment
- Maintain and repair equipment including: Front end loaders, material handlers, forklifts, skid steers
- Maintain and service various types of metal recycling equipment
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, motors, and hoses
- Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections to minimize downtime
- Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement long-term repair solutions
- Repair or replace components including engines, bearings, pumps, seals, hydraulic components, and mechanical assemblies
- Use a CMMS system to manage work orders, record maintenance activities, document repairs, and effectively communicate how you resolved the root cause problem
- Support the management of spare parts inventory, including identifying required parts, assisting with inventory tracking by checking a part out on a work order, and helping maintain critical spare components
- Read and interpret service manuals, hydraulic diagrams, and technical schematics
- Work closely with operations personnel to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- 5 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or industrial maintenance mechanic
- Experience working on front end loaders, material handlers, forklifts, skid steers, or similar heavy equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and repair skills in hydraulic systems
- Experience diagnosing mechanical failures and performing complex repairs
- Familiarity with CMMS systems for work orders and maintenance documentation
- Ability to work independently and prioritize repairs in a fast-paced environment
- Diesel engine experience
- Welding and fabrication skills
- Experience supporting spare parts or maintenance inventory systems
- Participate in general facility cleanup and other assigned duties.
