My Auto Store is looking for a hands-on Inventory and Mechanical Support Specialist to handle returns, inspect parts, and keep inventory moving. This role is focused on receiving returned parts, inspecting and quality-checking items, and doing basic mechanical repairs. You’ll work with everything from small parts to large components like engines and doors.
This is a physical, fast-paced role with a strong customer-facing component. You’ll also deal directly with customers during pickups and returns, so professionalism and communication are key. This role will work onsite in West Deptford, New Jersey, Monday through Friday 8:30am – 5pm and pays $22 – 24/hr.
What You’ll Be Doing
Returns & Quality Control
Receive and process returned parts and inventory
Inspect parts for damage, completeness, and usability (small parts, engines, doors, and more)
Tag, document, and enter inspection results into the inventory system
Mechanical & Warehouse Work
Perform basic mechanical repairs on returned engines, transmissions, and drivetrains
Load and unload trucks and pallets safely and efficiently
Keep accurate inventory records using warehouse software and Excel
Keep the returns area and warehouse clean, organized, and safe
Customer Interaction
Assist customers with pickups and returns
Answer Basic Questions About Parts And Returns Status
Provide a professional, helpful experience on the warehouse floor
Other Duties
Help with general warehouse tasks as needed
What We’re Looking For
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on repair experience
Comfortable using hand and power tools
Good attention to detail for inspections and quality checks
Able to lift up to 80 lbs and work on your feet
Basic computer skills (Excel and inventory systems)
Good communication skills and a customer-friendly attitude
Experience & Education
High School Diploma or GED required
2–3 years of mechanical experience (engines, transmissions, drivetrains, or similar) preferred
ASE Certification Preferred But Not Required (other Certifications Welcome)
