We are seeking dependable, motivated Independent Contractors (1099) to provide community‑based mental health counseling for at‑risk youth and mental health skill‑building for adults with serious mental illness through Virginia Medicaid programs (IIH & MHSS).
This is a field‑based position. Approximately 95% of your work occurs in the community, not in an office. You will be entering clients’ homes, driving throughout your service area, and transporting clients in your personal vehicle when appropriate. If you are not comfortable with these expectations, this role will not be a good match.
This is also a 1099 contract role — meaning:
- No taxes are withheld
- No benefits are provided
- You are paid MONTHLY
- There is no mileage reimbursement
- You manage your own schedule, mileage, and documentation

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field
- Current QMHP certification or eligibility for QMHP‑Trainee status
- Valid driver’s license & reliable personal vehicle
- Current automobile insurance
- Professional liability insurance
