What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personal and Community Support Staff position at Empowered Independence, LLC?
*Seeking Support Staff to provide one-on-one assistance up to 25 hours per week, with flexible days and times available. You will support an adult male with a developmental disability who is utilizing DDA Self-Directed Services, helping him live and learn as independently as possible in his home and community. **Please note:** You will be employed by the individual and paid through an external entity. You will NOT be an employee of Empowered Independence, LLC.
This position involves providing person-centered support in areas such as social skills, health and wellness, self-care, communication, behavioral support, and community access. Your responsibilities will include:
- Teaching life, vocational, social, employment, and recreational skills to maximize independence.
- Engaging in meaningful activities throughout the shift.
- Offering personal assistance as needed, including help with personal hygiene.
- Supporting participation in independent living activities.
- Assisting with access to preferred community locations.
- Providing behavioral support, with guidance from a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst).
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional education or certification in a related field is a plus).
- Must pass a federal and state background check.
- Valid driver's license, car insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is preferred.
