What are the responsibilities and job description for the RBT/Special Ed DSP (Direct Support Professional) for Self Directed Services position at Direct Support Staff?
We are seeking a compassionate, dynamic and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide care and support to a young adult who has moderate autism in his Catonsville home. This role, under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst, will require creating a structured schedule, incorporating Adult Daily Living Skills, Community involvement, continuing academic skills while implementing his behavioral interventions. This is weekend hours (occasional Fri/Sat evenings, Saturday/Sunday during day 10am-6pm)
Responsibilities
- Engaging the young adult in meaningful activities, both in the home and community
- Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing
- Increasing independence with living skills such as cooking, household chores, daily living skills
- Support individuals in engaging in social activities and community outings while implementing behavioral interventions established by the BCBA
- Daily data collection/planning
- Implement behavior management techniques when necessary
- Drive to appointments or recreational activities
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree is required
- RBT/Special Education experience in autism. ABA experience is a bonus
- Required to be trained in CPR/First Aid
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies
- Current auto insurance/valid driver's license

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
