What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Staff Weekends position at Direct Personal Support?
Active young woman seeks dependable, patient and trustworthy Direct Support Professionals for a variety of shifts.
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will provide one-on-one support to an individual with disabilities in her home and in the community. You will assist with daily personal care needs, basic household chores and trips into the community and companionship.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, and creative in their approach to providing individual supports. They must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Candidate should have strong interpersonal skills that are essential for building trust, promoting self-confidence, and communicating professionally with the individual and her team.
This position requires applicant to be at least 21 years of age have a high school diploma or equivalent, with at least one year of experience supporting people with disabilities preferred.
Must be able to operate a Hoyer Lift.
Must be willing to drive individual's personal van in order to access the community.
Must be comfortable with dogs.
Must have a valid, clean driver's license and willing to drive the individual’s wheelchair vehicle for trips into the community.
Must have valid HANDS ON/IN PERSON CPR and First Aid prior to start date.
Must be able to work independently and as part of team.
Available shifts:
Saturday: 7:00am-2:00pm and 5:00pm-11:00pm
Sunday: 9:00am-4:00pm and 6:00pm-11:00pm
Compensation:
