Emporia State University (ESU) seeks applications and nominations for two tenure track-or multi-year contract positions in Cybersecurity at the Assistant or Associate professor rank in the School of Business and Technology (SBT). We seek candidates who are genuinely passionate about the field and want to be part of a dynamic and evolving new program that focuses on practical application and workforce readiness. The successful candidates will begin their appointment in the Fall of 2026 to serve as our inaugural cybersecurity faculty.

Role Description
- Emporia State University seeks a full-time cybersecurity faculty member to join our team. This on-site role requires to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in cybersecurity that align with program needs in both on-campus and online modalities.
- Develop, sustain, and grow an active research agenda in cybersecurity or closely related discipline, commensurate with rank and institutional expectations.
- Engage in meaningful service to the School of Business & Technology, the university, and the broader professional and academic community.
- Contribute to curriculum development, continuous improvement, and assessment processes to ensure academic quality and program relevance as well as the pursuit of external research funding.
- Maintain relevant professional cybersecurity certifications required to support instructional excellence and industry alignment.
Qualifications
- Expertise in cybersecurity concepts and practices, including network security, information assurance, and ethical hacking
- Proficiency in teaching methodologies and curriculum development for undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses
- Strong skills in research, problem-solving, and analyzing cybersecurity trends
- Experience with cybersecurity tools, programming languages, and secure system design
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in academic settings
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and collaborative skills
- Doctorate degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field is preferred, although candidates with a master’s degree and significant professional experience may be considered
- Industry certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CISM) are a plus
