JOB DESCRIPTION

 The Compliance Label Technician plays a pivotal role in ensuring regulatory compliance by accurately printing and creating labels for cannabis products according to state and local requirements. This position involves operating label printing equipment, creating label designs, applying labels to cannabis packaging, and maintaining meticulous records to track labeling activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in label printing and design, knowledge of cannabis regulations, and strong attention to detail.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities:

1. Label Printing and Creation:
2. • Operate label printing equipment to produce compliance labels for cannabis product packaging, ensuring accurate printing and alignment.
   • Utilize label design software to create and customize labels according to product specifications, regulatory requirements, and branding guidelines.
3. Label Application:
4. • Apply printed labels to cannabis product packaging, ensuring proper placement, alignment, and adherence to quality standards.
   • Verify label information, including product name, potency, ingredients, warnings, and regulatory symbols, for accuracy and completeness.
5. Regulatory Compliance:
6. • Stay informed about cannabis regulations, including labeling requirements, packaging restrictions, and product information guidelines.
   • Ensure that all labeling activities comply with regulatory standards and guidelines to avoid compliance violations and penalties.
7. Record Keeping:
8. • Maintain detailed records of labeling activities, including label printing and application dates, quantities, and product information, to track compliance and facilitate audits.
   • Document any discrepancies or issues with labels, packaging, or product information and communicate them to appropriate personnel for resolution.
9. Quality Control:
10. • Conduct visual inspections of printed labels and labeled products to ensure label accuracy, legibility, and adherence to quality standards.
    • Identify and address any printing errors, misprints, or defects to maintain product quality and compliance with regulations.
11. Collaboration:
12. • Collaborate with production, packaging, and quality assurance teams to coordinate labeling activities and ensure timely completion of labeling tasks.
    • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to address labeling-related issues and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in graphic design, printing technology, or related field is a plus.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in label printing, graphic design, or a related field, preferably in the cannabis industry.
• Proficiency in label design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop) and experience with label printing equipment.
• Knowledge of cannabis regulations and labeling requirements, including familiarity with state-specific regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in label printing, creation, and application tasks.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadline

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be at least 21 years old and able to pass a background check.
• Familiarity with printing equipment and tools used in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
