Our client is a financial enterprise dedicated to making housing accessible and affordable for Americans across the country. The Staff Accountant will support daily banking and cash reporting activities, including wire transfers, reconciliations, and process testing to ensure accurate and efficient cash management. This is a full-time, contract position based in McLean, Virginia, paying $28 - $37.50 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Review and process wire transactions with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Work collaboratively with team members to maintain smooth cash management operations
- Test new systems and processes related to wire transfers and cash management
- Maintain confidentiality and security of financial transactions
- Prepare or review wires for approval by management
- Assist in automating wire transfer processes
- Support cash management initiatives and projects
- Track cash activity through proprietary and banking systems
- Assist with counter-party reviews and validations
- Reconcile internal records with bank statements and general ledger entries
- Contribute to updating and maintaining policies and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and ability to learn quickly
- Experience with wire transactions, including reviewing and preparing wires
- Operational mindset with understanding of cash management processes
- Industry experience in financial services or cash management
- Preferred: experience with ACH transactions
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Familiarity with banking systems and reconciliation processes
- Proven ability to handle confidential information
