Our client is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to preparing students for career success through leadership and skills development. The Programs Manager will lead youth leadership initiatives, coordinate governance and events, and strengthen program delivery to advance organizational impact. This is a full time direct hire position, hybrid, based in Herndon, Virginia, with a salary of $60,000 per year.
Responsibilities
• Develop and recommend strategic goals, objectives, and a program of work with youth leadership groups
• Manage youth council activities and election processes, improving workflows and outcomes as needed
• Build and maintain relationships with students, staff, and external partners to support program objectives
• Plan and produce conference general sessions and related leadership events, including logistics and content coordination
• Prepare periodic and special reports on program activities, progress, and results for internal and external stakeholders
• Oversee leadership training content development and ensure presentation quality and alignment to organizational standards
• Manage scholarship, award, and contest application processes, including reviewer coordination and award disbursement
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in youth-focused roles and administrative support
• Strong leadership and management capability with excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Strong written communication skills, including business writing and editing for accuracy and clarity
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience working with databases
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and improve routine processes
• Ability to lift and move materials up to 25 pounds as needed for meeting and event preparation
