What are the responsibilities and job description for the AI Strategy Consultant position at Employia?
Forward Deployed AI Strategist
Most consultants spend years diagnosing problems and delivering recommendations. Very few get the chance to own the outcome. This role is built for someone who wants to move beyond strategy decks and help deploy AI systems that fundamentally change how large enterprises operate.
You'll work directly with executive teams at billion-dollar companies, uncover operational bottlenecks, design AI-driven solutions, and help bring those solutions into production. If you've ever felt frustrated watching recommendations disappear after the final presentation, this is the opposite experience.
About the company
This company is building AI agents that automate complex operational workflows inside large enterprises. Their systems handle the work that traditional software and automation tools struggle with: cross-system coordination, exception handling, financial operations, compliance workflows, and other high-value processes that still require significant human intervention.
Rather than adding another layer of software, they deploy directly into the systems enterprises already use, enabling organizations to automate work that historically couldn't be automated.
The team is still small, which means every hire has meaningful influence on how the company scales, how customers are served, and how the product evolves.
Why this role stands out
- You'll work directly with CFOs, COOs, and executive leadership teams at large enterprises.
- You'll own engagements from first conversation through implementation, not just recommendations.
- You'll help define how enterprise AI adoption actually happens.
- You'll partner closely with experienced technical founders and influence product direction.
- You'll join early enough for your judgment and execution to materially shape the company.
What you'll do
- Lead workflow audits and discovery engagements with enterprise customers.
- Identify automation opportunities across finance, operations, and compliance functions.
- Translate business challenges into implementation-ready specifications.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior executives.
- Partner with engineering teams to bring solutions into production.
- Own customer relationships throughout the deployment lifecycle.
- Contribute to the company's emerging deployment playbooks and best practices.
What are they looking for
- 2-5 years in strategy consulting, strategic finance, business operations, or corporate strategy (MBB Preferred).
- Experience leading workstreams, engagements, or transformation initiatives.
- Strong executive presence and ability to build trust with senior stakeholders.
- High degree of ownership and comfort operating with ambiguity.
- Genuine interest in AI and hands-on experience using AI tools.
- Analytical skills including SQL, Python, Excel, or similar tooling.
- Preference for operators who have driven implementation, not just analysis.
