The Production Manager operates within Hydraquip's fluid conveyance division, overseeing the production of fluid conveyance products and solutions. This role partners closely with outside sales representatives, purchasing, and warehouse personnel to drive production success from initiation through delivery. The Production Manager is responsible for monitoring departmental progress and ensuring alignment with company goals and quality standards across all assigned projects and customer engagements.
Primary Responsibilities- Manage end-to-end hose department operations, overseeing order processing from receipt through assembly, quality control, and final delivery to ensure accuracy and on-time fulfillment.
- Manage the shop floor and a production team of 5–10 technicians performing hose assembly and fluid conveyance work.
- Coordinate with internal departments—including purchasing, engineering, sales, and warehouse—to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Review and analyze activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to measure departmental and project progress toward stated goals.
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of fluid conveyance products, including hoses, couplings, fittings, valves, adapters, and related components.
- Support and participate in the organization's continual improvement program in conformance with ISO 9001 and Quality Management System requirements.
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred.
- 3 years of experience in production, inside sales, or a related role within fluid conveyance, fluid power, or industrial distribution.
- Demonstrated experience managing client relationships, order processing, and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel; experience with ERP or order-entry systems preferred.
- Experience working in an ISO 9001-certified environment is a plus.
- Strong production management skills with the ability to track and prioritize multiple accounts and deliverables concurrently.
- Sound problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed, timely decisions independently.
- Solid understanding of fluid conveyance products and applications, or a demonstrated willingness to develop technical proficiency.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain productive relationships across customers, teammates, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly and professionally via phone, email, and in person.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills; ensures all project information is accurately documented, tracked, and communicated to stakeholders.
